An opportunity exists for a highly driven and ambitious procurement professional to lead a team of 18 creating a new innovative strategic procurement service that will become the template for every local authority, leveraging the best of modern commercial practices. Embedding and developing the category management approach you will put procurement at the heart of all the authority抯 Directorates, fashioning a ground breaking shared service that will be at the heart of the Hull抯 way of doing things, leading the Transformation agenda.

       Reporting to the Director of Corporate Resources, you will be an experienced procurement professional, with an exposure to state of the art strategic procurement disciplines. With a track record of working within the private sector, possibly a leading consultancy, you will have a good understanding of the values of local authorities. With a keen intellect, possibly underpinned by an MBA, you will have strong management credentials. A strong influencer, you will have lead change, across an organisation and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
