MBA Graduate Case Studies(2)

“After leaving LJMU, I worked as a consultant, then joined an information technology company. Now working for the largest airport management company in the world, I have an opportunity to put into practice the skills I developed at LJMU and which I am still developing.  I have visited the university since I graduated, and talked to later groups about my work and plans. I hope that has helped inspire them to achieve their dreams as I am realising mine.”

Tim Craig

"I have worked within the IT industry for over fifteen years. Currently, I am employed as an IT Manager within a North West based organisation focusing upon IT strategy development, implementation and project management. Prior to embarking on my MBA at Liverpool JMU I attained an MSc from the University of Salford.

"Whilst researching MBA courses I was impressed by the comprehensive nature of the LJMU MBA syllabus, the flexible start dates, reasonable fees and the convenient location of the campus which is well serviced by road and rail links.

"The course has helped to formalise many of the business practices and methods I have learnt and acquired during my career. In particular, I found the project management and strategy management modules have equipped me with useful techniques which I frequently utilise.

"There were obviously some subjects within the MBA programme that I had not been exposed to previously. In that respect the financial module was the most challenging: the knowledge I have gained has proven very useful since my graduation. The most enjoyable stage was the writing of my dissertation in which I carried out analysis and made recommendations based on the experiences of three local organisations that had undergone significant business process reengineering initiatives.

"The mixture of UK and international students provided a culturally rich environment in which to study. Lecture groups were small and focused which allowed greater personal involvement for everybody involved. I benefited greatly from the interaction that took place.

"Initially I wasn’t familiar with Liverpool city centre, but I found that everybody at LJMU was keen to answer my questions, the area around the campus is safe and student focused.

"All the lecturers were extremely knowledgeable in their chosen fields and eager to ensure each student gained the most from their studies. The course content and delivery exceeded my expectations.

"Having successfully completed the LJMU MBA I would have no hesitation of recommending the MBA to prospective home or international students. The course was well managed, the facilities were excellent, my time spent at LJMU was both worthwhile and enjoyable."
